ULTA Haul - 20% off entire purchase & 10% off fragrances (plus free robe!)

ULTA had a 20% off coupon as well as 10% off any fragrance (plus you get a free robe) and there was also $5 off $10 for non-prestige products so I pretty much had a field day. I had been waiting all year for the Sephora Friends and Family sale and they decided to make it exclusive for only VIB members so I decided to take my business elsewhere lol. Although they did send out a $15 off $50 purchase which I did end up using.

First thing I got was a fragrance. I've been looking for a new fragrance since my Chanel one is almost gone. It's hard for me to pick another fragrance because I love that one so much and my friends have already associated that scent with me. Also that scent seems to stay on me for a long time. I was actually looking for Flowerbomb but they don't carry that at ULTA and the lady recommended this one. She said it smells very similar to Flowerbomb and she was saying so many good things about it. I sprayed the Noir and the regular Viva La Juicy and ran around the store buying all my other stuff before going with the Noir. I would say the Viva La Juicy is more on the floofy side (like light and flowery) whereas the Noir smells a bit warmer? (If you can't tell I'm SUPER good at describing scents ;) lol). I really love the scent of the Noir but I'm a little bit disappointed by the staying power of it :(. I honestly can't smell it on my wrists after a few hours (if you ever see me sniffing my wrists, you now know why lol).

One of my holy grail make up products is the Urban Decay Makeup Setting Sprays. I've used all the different ones and I love that it makes my makeup look less powder-y and makes it stay all day long.

I've heard a lot of good things awhile back about this Elizabeth Arden 8-hr cream from a lot of YouTubers so I decided to pick it up. My skin hasn't been it's best recently (probably because I haven't been diligently using my Clarisonic) and I heard that this stuff clears up acne and really moisturizes the skin as well. Apparently it contains salicylic acid which works a lot better for my skin than benzoyl peroxide. Plus benzoyl peroxide tends to bleach everything insight so I tend to try to only save that for a more massive attack for the more stubborn pimples. I guess we'll have to see how this works.

Yet another holy grail product. Seriously, I must have been living under a rock because I don't know why I didn't buy this earlier. It completely masks any large pores you have. I have a lot of large pores on my face especially in my cheek area and under the eyes so this has been amazing for that. The consistency of this stuff is similar to the Smashbox primer but tinted and creamier so it's a lot easier to apply all over. The Smashbox primer works super well but it breaks me out every time so I only use it for super special occasions. Would highly recommend this product.

benefit - the pore-fessional

Anastasia Brow Wiz pencils. Gotta stock up on this sucker because it probably lasts me less than a month. Super convenient because this is the twist up one. I got it in Brunette.

I've heard so much about this Benefit Hoola bronzer and decided to pick one up to see what it was all about. I haven't started using it yet but I have high hopes!

I also picked up this Urban Decay single eyeshadow in Buck (which is in one of the Naked palettes, I forget which one). I wanted the single eyeshadow because I pretty much use this as a base for my eyes and I don't really want to carry my Naked palette around.

And then to get the $5 of $10 on non-prestige item, I bought these Revlon lip glosses which were BOGO 50% off. The one on the left is Super Natural which I've heard a lot of people talk about and the one on the right is Pango Peach. There are a lot of micro sparkles in the Pango Peach and I feel like it's a really cute color for the holidays if you are more conservative and don't want to do red lips or vampy lips.

Ever since I went crazy at Walmart and bought a ton of the Real Techniques brushes which I've been loving, I've been wanting more! Went back to get this shading brush. Hopefully this one will be just as good as the other brushes!

Almay eyeliner pencils are my favorite drugstore eyeliner. It goes on fairly dark and isn't as breakable as the Milani liquid eye pencils. I decided to stock up since they were also BOGO 50% off and they were able to apply the $5 of $10 on it.

Last thing I picked up was yet another thing I wanted to try since it looked like it would be a good base color for my lids. It's the Stila eyeshadow in Puppy. Now that I've opened up both Puppy and the Urban Decay Buck, they look so similar that I'm thinking of returning one lol. I didn't realize they were pretty much the same thing.

Hope you enjoyed this haul! I probably won't be posting anything until after the holidays since I work the next couple of days but I wanted to wish you all a Happy Holiday!!

Sunday Sounds: Now That's What I Call Christmas Music

Since it's Christmas time, I thought I'd do my favorite Christmas songs edition of Sunday Sounds. Hope you enjoy these tunes and happy holidays if I don't see you guys beforehand!

1. All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey

2. The Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Andy Williams

3. The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole

4. Baby It's Cold Outside - Zooey Deschanel and Leon Redbone

5. Jingle Bell Rock - Bobby Helms

6. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays - Nsync

7. Let It Snow - Dean Martin

8. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy - Tchaikovsky

9. Carol of the Bells

10. White Christmas

P.S. I've been trying to do a few posts but YouTube has been a real butt. I finished uploading some footage from the Drake concert but apparently my account has been put on probation so I can't upload any videos over 15 minutes long so I'm going to have to cut that video down (it's 18 minutes right now).

Sunday Sounds - Sevyn Streeter

The song speaks for itself. Reminds me of the 'ole Ashanti and Ja Rule days lol.

And here's a little extra plug. Love this time of the year because it was when we met.

September 2013: Month in Review Part 2

Sept. 21st-23rd, 2013:
Packed our bags and headed to LA for the M83 concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday and some random meetings with friends.

sporting my knockaround brand sunglasses and small duffle.

First we had lunch with one of my oldest friends who's birthday had just past. We decided to eat at Banh Cuon Tay Ho since they don't have this good stuff in San Diego. Bomb dot com for sure. Definitely one of the top places to visit when I'm back in the 626.

After that, we headed to Walmart just to kill time and then stopped at Honey Boba which is in the same plaza. Pretty good.

For dinner we decided to eat at Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa. I love whatever this is lol. The little plates are so good especially when they are drenched in fish sauce lol.

Hit up some peeps while I was up in LA and we decided to check out Guppy House in Temple City. I swear so much changes every time I go back to the 626.

Sept 22nd, 2013:
We've been heading to bed pretty early and waking up pretty early too so we decided to go to Urth Caffe. It was my first time going to this location. Back in my UCLA days we always went to the one in Santa Monica and I had no idea this one even existed. The line when we got there wasn't too long (it went right to the door). Apparently they don't allow pictures of their bakery items when it's still in the little fridge thing (yes, I got in trouble because I didn't see the sign lol). The food was pretty good but I think what makes this location so great is the diversity. Definitely seeing people from all walks of life and dressed in whichever way.

After eating at Urth, we headed back to the house and took a small nap before heading to the bus station for transportation to the Hollywood Bowl (since parking at the bowl takes forever to get out).

More on that adventure here.

Sept. 23rd, 2013:
Before heading back to San Diego we stopped at the 85 degree bakery.

Sept. 26th, 2013:
Decided to head out for what I thought would be restaurant week for week 2 but Cucina Urbana does not participate in the 2nd week. Met up with a classmate from pharmacy school and we enjoyed some pretty good food. Definitely want to go back to try some more stuff.

Sept. 27th-29th:
Headed to Vegas for Donna's Bachelorette Party.

Sept. 30th, 2013:
Came home to these invites. So adorable because they are both teachers! Designed by her brother.

That finishes off September. As the year comes to an end, the months get busier and busier!
I may have to break the posts down more since there's a lot more pictures and content.
And I apologize for any grammar/spelling errors. Sometimes my fingers can't type as fast as I'm
thinking so words get left behind lol.

Sunday Sounds: Lorde

One of my favorite apps is Shazam. There are so many times when I'm watching a movie or TV show and I like a song so much that I actually look it up online and ever since Shazam, its been so much easier to find those songs. Recently I Shazam-ed 2 songs from Pure Heroine by Lorde and I'm totally loving them. I wasn't too into the Royals song so give these songs a chance if you are sick of the Royals song lol.

"We live in cities you'll never see on screen
Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things
Living in ruins of the palace within my dreams
And you know we're on each other's team"
-love my team!
