About Me

Hi friends!

This little blog here is dedicated to the few things in life that I could not live without: friends and family, the lover, tasty food, fashion & makeup, travels & adventures, and music.

Food: My upbringing has most definitely influenced my palate. Being from the San Gabriel Valley I love almost all Asian food. There's really nowhere (at least that I know of) that can really compare to the food here when it comes to Asian food (except Asia? lol). My second love is probably Italian food. I really don't think I could live without pasta in whatever shape or form it comes in.

Fashion & Makeup: I have to admit that I was one of those girls that used to despise makeup. It's "so fake", "so pretentious", "unnatural". When I first saw Jenn from  FrmHeadtoToe do her Heart 2 Heart Video on Makeup, I remembered thinking, "wow, that's exactly how I felt". Yup, I was a makeup hater and fashion? Fashion for most of my life consisted of matching sets of sweatshirts and sweatpants from Chinatown (was that stylish back then? lol no clue) and the pouffiest (and itchiest) dresses on earth. It wasn't until college that I even started to use eyeliner. Nowadays, I'm up to thewholeshebang (minus the eyeshadow). I definitely agree with everything Jenn mentioned in her video and I would highly recommend watching her Heart 2 Heart video. I was at work and a customer actually told me that her dermatologist recommended that she use foundation that contains SPF daily. She said that even foundation that doesn't contain SPF protects the skin from getting sun spots. I'm not sure how much truth there is to that but I'd like to believe it for now :) lol. I'm definitely still new to this stuff but I'm here to document all the trial and error!

Travels & Adventures: The farthest I've travelled is to Europe with my parents the Summer I graduated from UCLA. I haven't documented that adventure on this blog as it was many years ago (2007). My most recent adventure was to Hawaii for a friend's wedding. I'm a huge lover of cruises (buffet, pizza, fries and ice cream bar 24/7, unlimited sun bathing and r&r... what is there not to love?!). I have yet to post pictures of my trip with the lover to the Puerto Vallarta and Cabo but hopefully I'll have that up soon.

Music: The biggest musical influence on me has been Michael Jackson. I remember watching him on my dad's laser disks (yes... I, too, can't believe how old I am lol. Laser disks?! What are those?!). The death of the King of Pop also made me realize that I would never be able to cross that off of my bucket list and thus was the fire behind the whole concert series. Money may not be able to buy you happiness but it sure can give you some of the best musical memories. My favorite concerts so far have been Keane (who is absolutely AMAZING live), No Doubt (if I had half the energy of Gwen Stefani after having 2 kids, I'll be happy lol), and the Temper Trap (the moment they started playing Sweet Disposition, I swear I felt chills. It would have been worth it to go to that concert to hear that song alone.).

Past, Present, Future: School has always been the top priority in the eyes of my parents. College was not a choice, it was more of a choice of which college. After completing my undergraduate degree at UCLA, I took a year off to complete the rest of the prerequisites to go to pharmacy school and I was lucky enough to be admitted to the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. After spending 2 years in Stockton though, I was ready to come home. I was lucky enough to have my rotations in Southern California. After rotations, I returned to Stockton to make that walk across the stage that would change my prefix from Miss to Dr. After graduation, I returned back to Southern California and this is where this blog begins. I don't know what the future will bring, but whatever it is, you can read all about it (or at least the reader's digest version) here.

Thanks for stopping by :) - Jenn
