the san diego adventure

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday this past weekend! It's been a crazy week but here's the jist of what happened.

On Monday Dec. 20th, my friend Christina and I embarked on our journey to San Diego. Our plan was to head to Carlsbad, CA for some Legoland fun. Apparently Legoland has been open for 10 years and we've lived in Southern California all our lives but we've never gone! We pretty much picked the best 3 days to go down to San Diego *sarcasm*. It was seriously raining cats and dogs the whole time we were down there. Anyways, it was a light drizzle the whole time we were in Legoland and once the rain started coming down, we hopped over the their Sea Life Aquarium. Overall Legoland seems like it would be a really fun day trip (being that they are only open from 10-5pm). You could definitely finish the whole park in one day. It's just pretty embarrassing when you can't stomach some of the kid rides lol. But seriously, there's this one ride where you pull yourself up to the top and then you just kinda free fall down. It seriously did not look scary at all until we got on there lol.
Because of the rain, we pretty much finished Legoland and Sea Life Aquarium around 4pm. Luckily, they are having this promotion where if you buy a day, you get a 2nd day free so we can go back sometime before April 2011. We then stopped at the Carlsbad Outlets which are literally right next to Legoland. Maybe its 'cause I haven't been to the outlets in a really long time but everything seemed super cheap so I ended up buying something at every single store I went to (except Coach and the only reason I didn't buy anything was because it took too long for them to bring out the item that I wanted!). Looking back though, I didn't really buy that much for myself haha. It was mostly all Christmas shopping. There was a buy one get one 50% off at Lids so I ended getting 2 hats (one as a present and one for myself lol). Then I stopped over at Gap and their clothes are usually too big but I found these Gingerbread pjs that were super adorable and cheap! My friend's sister loves gingerbread peeps so I just got them for her. I figured even if she doesn't use the top, she could just use the fabric to make something else (she's quite crafty). And then I got sucked in to buying some tights there too lol. I've been obsessed with tights lately! They are so comfy! But after that we stopped at Coach. I wanted to get this wallet for my dad. It was a super deal 'cause their items already had a discount of 40% off (up to 70% off) AND you got to add an additional 30% off on top of that! Deals! But sadly the item I wanted was way out of my price range. I think if I got that item, I wouldn't have been able to buy anything else on the trip haha. Then I stopped at Dooney & Bourke and found this bag that I'd been wanting since forever!!
It's this bag except the bag is white and the ducks are red.
After that we stopped over at Swarovski. I was looking for something to get my friend who always goes into their stores just to look at all their sparkly stuff haha. I ended up purchasing this little buddy for her.
I'm the cutest USB drive ever! Yee-ha! <-- that was the sound a cowboy makes btw lol. His name is actually "Robot Naughty Raymond" bahahaha.
Then we stopped at Pacsun. They were having a buy one get the 2nd item 60% off which meant I had to buy two things lol. Ended up purchasing two tops. I think that was the end of my shopping extravaganza lol.

It's so weird how time seems to slow down in places that aren't LA. Maybe I'm just biased but we were done with the outlets by 6:30 and by the time we had finished dinner, it was 7:30p. We were checked into our hotel by 8pm and we just kinda sat around in our hotel room til 12am with literally nothing to do but gaze lovingly at our purchases lol. Time seriously seemed to slow down to a pace of a sedated snail.

On Tuesday Dec 21st, our first order of business was to eat at Hash House A Go Go. The weather was seriously frightful that day. We got to the restaurant and it was raining cats and dogs once again and there was still a line!! We ended up waiting about an hour and 15 minutes for a table. Their food was pretty good and their portions were gynormous!! After that, we purchased these GoCar tour things from Goldstar but because of the rain, we really couldn't take the GoCars out. :(

Its literally impossible to find parking around Downtown San Diego and I had read online that there's free parking with validation at Horton Plaza so we ended up doing some shopping there. I rarely shop at Macy's but I had been looking for a puffy white jacket to add to my jacket collection and I literally spotted this beauty as soon as I stepped into the juniors section and originally it was $50 but it was on sale for $20! It was such a deal! The mall itself is pretty much outdoors except there's a ceiling over some parts so we ended up seeing Burlesque to hide from the rain. It was a pretty good movie. Cam Gigandet is such a hottie!
all I have to say is: DAYAM!!!!
After that, we met up with some of my other friends at Soju Town, this korean karaoke place. So much fun! I refuse to sing karaoke 'cause I have this secret fear of microphones. I hate the sound of my voice enough already and to magnify that by a thousand decibels? No thanks lol. But I finally did it! lol Just a tiny bit haha. I left the real singing to Pearl haha.

On our last day in San Diego (Wednesday Dec. 22nd), we had bought tickets from Goldstar for a 2-hour Hornblower Cruise of San Diego Bay but they cancelled all of their tours that day due to the poor weather conditions. We were thinking about calling Goldstar to possibly get a refund but the amazing thing about Goldstar was that within minutes (and I literally mean minutes) after we were told that all the cruises that day were cancelled, I received a call and voice mail from Goldstar saying that the price of the tickets had been refunded to my account. That is some pretty amazing customer service! *thumbs up*

After that, we had purchased a Groupon for this place called Toast Enteca & Cucina near Petco Park. I seriously still have dreams of eating their bread with balsamic vinegar. Their balsamic vinegar is seriously to die for!! Their food was super flavorful and very filling! The place itself is fairly small though.

After eating at Toast, it started raining so we made our way back to Los Angeles. We ended up going to Office Depot to get our Lego Caricatures laminated. I didn't realized how cheap it was to laminate things! It was only about $3 to laminate this caricature that's a little bigger than a normal 8x11.

That pretty much ends the San Diego Trip!

Merry Holidays everyone! I've got a ton of reading to do for my next rotation :/ and a bunch of random errands to run! Will update again soon!
