day 43-45: back it up back it up

Oh boy, it's been a long time since I last updated! Gotta hop right back on the bandwagon!

day 43 (saturday): it's a beautiful day in this neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor...
On Saturday, we went out for lunch at this place Miami Grille which has Cuban food. Friggin' delicious!!! Seriously still have dreams about their Jamaican Jerk Chicken which was what I got. Tony got the Havana Chopp which had this really good curry sauce. Both dishes were extremely flavorful and the Jamaican Jerk Chicken was extremely spicy. Both (spicy and flavorful) were my requests which were fulfilled :). Then Tony wanted to take me to Seaport Village but we forgot that there was an airshow going on so it was super crowded. It was a super nice day outside so while Tony was driving, I just stuck my head out the window (yes... like a dog lol). Let me just say it was great haha. After that, we decided to go to Balboa Park. This place is fricken gorgeous! There were a bunch of people just laying out and it reminded me of UCLA and the rolling hills by Janss Steps. Here's some pictures because I am way too lazy to type about it being that I'm already over a week late in my updates lol.

For dinner, we went to a Thai restaurant called Siam Nara. The service at this place is crazy!! I mean they are literally waiting on you hand and foot! It's great because the food is pretty spicy and they literally refill your water every time they pass your table and they walk by A LOT. After dinner, we wanted to get Thrifty's Ice Cream at RiteAid but they were closed. So we got something even better... McDonald's ice cream cones with fries! Delicious!! So good! The perfect mix of sweet and salty!

day 44 (sunday): steal some covers, share some skin
Not much happened today except Tanya had to come down to San Diego to pick up her car so we met up with her and Jason at this ramen place, Tajima. Before that, Tony and I decided to get a "snack" at this place, Cotixan Mexican & Seafood Restaurant. This was the famous surf and turf burrito that Tony kept talking about. Being that I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food in general, it was pretty good and I can imagine how much better it would taste when you're drunk lol.

day 45 (monday):
Today was the start of my fifth rotation which is Ambulatory Care. I'm supposed to start at 8am but I wasn't sure how bad traffic would be so I left my house at 6:30am. It actually only took me about 30 minutes to get there so I'll be leaving a little later from now on. My preceptor seems really cool and I have another student with me from USC. I love that this site is super organized. I got an actual syllabus of everything I'll be doing for the rest of the rotation and it really doesn't seem that bad at all. This clinic is mostly an anticoagulation clinic so patients will get their INR measured and then they come to the clinic and we figure out how to dose their warfarin. I actually got to interview a patient yesterday which was pretty cool. Felt like I was actually making an impact.

So I know I'm super behind but I really don't want to bombard you with a gynormo post so here's a snippet.
Hope everyone has an aweseome hump day (I swear I always update on hump day or something lol)!
Excited to see Linkin Park tonight!!! *throws up some rocker signs & sticks out tongue like I'm Avril*

  1. I'm so jealy about the Linkin Park concert. In high school I would've just about DIED to go to one. But I'm not sure my grandma status could handle one of those concerts anymore if it was general admission and not a seated concert. Hope you have fun!
